The Meeting Point Artists Association (MPAA), a unique group of artists from both Eastern and Western backgrounds, fosters an east-west philosophical and poetic approach to art. Twenty five years ago, MPAA launched its first annual exhibition at Simon Wong’s China Express restaurant in Calgary. Since that time, our group has built upon the initial ‘East-West’ model and with the expanding membership now numbering 25, MPAA has grown to represent a more multi-cultural perspective. Each artist continues to develop his or her individualistic artistic practice, sharing with other MPAA members their own innovative approaches to the creative process involving new media and multi-disciplinary interactions. This exhibition provides a perspective of past and current work by each artist influenced by their interactions with other MPAA members.

Participating artists: Paresh Athparia, Billie Avery, Kathleen Bentley, John Chong, Jim Etzkorn, Winnie Ho, Morley Hollenberg, Isabelle Hunt-Johnson, Harry Kiyooka, Lap Lam, Connie Ptasinski, Fred Spina, Myken Woods-McKenna, Catherine Huang-Tam
